REPAIR PROCEDURE
Using the Rear Window Tube
1. Lower the top halfway.
2. Insert the rear window tube in the rear window.
3. Lower the top the rest of the way.
NOTE:Do not let the rear window tube roll off the car
when the top is raised. Dirt can stick to the tube and
scratch the window the next time the tube is used.
Cleaning a Clouded Window
1. Apply about a one-inch dab of plastic cleaner onto
a scratch-free cloth, and rub it onto the window in a
horizontal motion. Clean both sides of the window,
about one-third at a time. You may need to apply
substantial pressure to thoroughly clean the vinyl.
2. Wipe off any residue with a clean por tion of the
cloth.
3. Apply about a one-inch dab of plastic polish onto a
clean scratch-free cloth, and rub it onto the window
in a horizontal motion. Polish both sides of the
window, about one-third at a time.
4. Remove any excess polish, and buff the cleaned
area with a clean scratch-free cloth.
5. Repeat steps 1 thru 4 if any part of the window is
still clouded.
Removing Scratches From the Rear Window
1. Apply some Honda Metal Polish to a tightly woven
piece of felt, and rub the window with it in a circular
motion. You need to apply substantial pressure to
remove the scratches. Use felt, not a cloth.
NOTE:The metal polish makes the window look
clouded.
2. Apply about a one-inch dab of plastic cleaner onto
a scratch-free cloth, and rub it onto the window in a
horizontal motion. Clean both sides of the window,
about one-third at a time. You may need to apply
substantial pressure to thoroughly clean the vinyl.
3. Wipe off any residue with a clean portion of the
scratch-free cloth.
4. Apply about a one-inch dab of polish onto a clean
scratch-free cloth, and rub it onto the window in a
horizontal motion. Polish both sides of the window,
about one-third at a time.
5. Wipe off any excess polish, and buff the cleaned
area with a clean scratch-free cloth.
6. Repeat steps 2 thru 5 if the window is still clouded.
