Figure I would create this thread now to get an early head start on this event.

RTD event

For those who are new or haven't made a dragon trip with our group now is the time! Not only is it a blast in the car, it's also a blast with everyone in our community.

Dates of travel for our group: April 10-14th

Itinerary(copied from last year):

Wednesday - Drive straight through to the Dillard House in GA. We will try to get there at a reasonable time so that we can enjoy the outlandish buffet and have a few cocktails that night. It is so nice up there and I feel we didn't get to enjoy as much last time.

Thursday - Leave Dillard around 9am, take War Woman Road up to the usuall spot to pick up refreshments for the weekend. We will then make our way to Fontana. After we arrive at Fontana I assume it will be a "whatever you wanna do" day.

Friday - Saturday - Dragon events

Sunday - Leave for home at approx 7 - 8 am.

Dillard House Reservation Info

Contact The Dillard House @ 1-800-541-0671 and make your reservation for 4/10/13. Let them know you are with the S2ki group and want a room at the group rate in "The Meadows" and all should be taken care of. If anyone questions you have them speak with Andria in group sales.

Is everyone's vote still to stop over in Dillard overnight as well?

 

I'm in and yes I vote to stop overnight in Dillard on Wednesday evening. After leaving on Thursday for years the change to leaving Wednesday was refreshing. It made the trip seem less rushed and arriving in Fontana on Thursday afternoon is great because the Dragon is less crowded for afternoon runs.

Personally I wouldn't change the trip agenda from last year except maybe on Saturday I would like to make a group run over to Little Switzerland.

 

I just noticed the "Back of the Dragon" event which precedes the RTD event (It's WTD damm it! not RTD) Anyway that sounds interesting..................Leave Tampa on Saturday April 6th?
