Default So this is why my shifter is stuck.....

SO........ a couple months ago my shifter kept getting stuck at reverse position. I ignored it, it wasn't big deal. Saw a DIY a couple weeks ago, and decided to have a look at it today. WALLLAA

What do you knowww

Is that corrosion inside the transmission receptacle? Clean everything as well as you can and re-grease it. Use honda high temp urea grease, and don't be greedy with it.
That does look pretty disgusting.

Is there dirt in there ?, it looks gritty and dirty. Corrossion often happens from water seepage from below the shifter just wondering if you are getting dirt in there as well as water seepage. If you are getting dirt in there you will need to address that issue.
