Default Is there a max PSI on a log manifold?

Hey guys,

Ive been reading and found a few post on other members having issues with a log manifold turbo system and running more than 14-16psi. They have said without ethanol, they get detonation running that much boost. Is this true? I remember talking to inline pro a while back and they mentioned, not sure if on a rsx or civic, that they were able to make 700hp on a log manifold. I was tuned for 11psi a few years ago but my tuner mentioned to me that I can safely go up to 16psi. I made that day 359 to the wheels and would think going up to 14psi, i should be close to 390-400. What do you think?

My buddy made 455whp on your set up with meth injection, running 15psi. OEM F20. The meth injection is an important component for doing it safely and effectively.

Yea i have seen 500hp on ethanol but was looking for the max on 93 pump gas. Can you run around 400 safely on 93 only?

I'd say yes, no problem.

Guess I have to get myself to a dyno and see if im close to that. I have raised the boost up to 14psi while making sure my a/f is around 11.1-11.5 throughout the whole power band.

That is pretty damn rich, but better to air on the rich/safe side then lean if your street tuning. Just don’t dip into the 10's or it could start having the opposite effect. You don’t want to start fuel washing. I’d say mid to upper 11’s is a good target generally, and its better to run a little richer up top then down in the lower rpm.

To answer your question bluntly: Yes 400+ whp is possible on a gt3076 and log with 93 gas. it will happen around 14-15psi depending on if you have external wastegate dump, size of exhaust, etc. I made 408whp @ 15.3psi with an older garrett t3/t04e 60-1(smaller and less efficient than a GT3076). Also do you have a .63 or .82 exhaust housing.

Good luck!

My external wastegate is a turbosmart 38mm. My exhaust is a 3 inch but i have a electronic cutout where the cat would be. So its pretty similar to open headers when i push it. Not sure about the exhaust housing though. Im going to do some street tuning tomorrow and get the a/f as close to 11.5 and adjust my boost controller to 14. My aem cuts out at 16 psi so this will give it a bit of room.
