Wings & Wheels - Dunsfold - 26-27th August 2012
Held annually at Dunsfold Park in Surrey (also home to BBC's Top Gear), Wings & Wheels is firmly established as one of the UK's most popular and unique family days out. The show takes place over two days on the August bank holiday with an exceptional host of air and motoring entertainment unrivalled by any other show.
Thrilling crowds with the finest civil and military flying displays, visitors to Wings & Wheels are also treated to non-stop action on the ground with a line-up of record-breaking race cars and motoring demonstrations, arena attractions and retail therapy. So whether a wide-eyed first timer, a seasoned veteran, aviation buff or motoring enthusiast the experience will leave you breathless!
With over 100 aircraft and 500+ vehicles participating each year, upwards of 36,000 visitors and support from the Royal Air Force and Brooklands Museum, Wings & Wheels is acknowledged as one of the UK's premier outdoor events for the whole family.
Wings & Wheels 2011 was staged over the weekend of 28 and 29 August and was led by thrilling 5 hour flying displays with fast jets and historic aircraft and 2 hour motoring demonstrations with vintage and iconic cars. Who's up for a club stand?

We're in for at least one day . For anyone who's not sure we went last year and had a brilliant day out (even with a Jagermeister induced hangover!) .
Ian - can the club take part in the runway demonstration?

Had a really good time last year, and definately have it in my diary.
I've spoken to the events organiser responsible for cars, and have the following info:
This year, there is no "airfield run" for everyone - it's only for those clubs/vehicles that are accepted as part of the Motoring Demonstration which is being managed by Brooklands Museum, and is by application only. The run will be limited in number of vehicles, and will be staged from a seperate part of the exhibition area due to the logistics of moving vehicles/crowds - ie you won't be able to move/access your car once parked. Ticket pricing is standard.
Application form
The other options are as follows:
Static Display and Wheels Zone
Static Display - basically an open car park where you can leave at any time - plus point is that you get a slight discount on tickets, negative is that parking is allocated on arrival, therefore unless you come together you are not guaranteed to be adjacent.
Application form - Static
Wheels Zone - the more formal club area. The organisers will expect an exhibit over the two days, and you are free to erect banners/flags etc. Pitch size is approx 20*20, set up by 8.45 each day and can't be changed until 6pm. Benefit here is that drivers are free and passengers get a discount. I'm getting the info pack for this sent over to me and will share as and when.
To me it sounds like we have the option of either doing a full club stand, which would require some ownership and organisation (happy to get involved/help if need be) or taking our chances in the Static Display. If there is a "preferred" single day, maybe an agreed meeting point/time and then convoy in to the Static Display area?
If the club stand was taken up, perhaps an option would be to try and get a 99 and a GT100 in the Motoring Demonstration?
Camping - if the club stand has enough interest, camping is an option on site.
Camping info/prices - to me it equates to not paying for entry over the two days, but paying for one night of camping.
So - to go any further needs a show of interest. I am definately in for one day, and could potentially be persuaded for more. Over to you....

Looks like this has gone very quiet.
I've had a note from the organisers stating that the deadline for a club stand was Friday, but they might be able to sort something out.
Realistically I'm thinking that unless we have a massive finger pulling out session, this option is gone.
Does anyone want to do an organised meet up/convoy in and take advantage of the cheaper tickets for the static display?
