It's pretty obvious it's a scam at that money. You'd only be sucked in if you had no clue what you were looking at.

If anyone finds themselves dealing with someone in the military, ask for their service number and name of their Divisional Officer. All RN service numbers start with a '300' , 'D' or 'C0'

The situation he posted up resembles situations I have been in, but have been able to convince buyers/sellers that I am genuine.

Seen similar scams on Gumtree when I was trying to buy a top end camera. They usually worked in one place but lived miles away, so someone else would post it for them, so could you use PayPal, etc, etc....

For me, if I'm handing over that kind of cash, I'll only do it face to face and with paperwork etc present. Too many scams around now a days and no doubt most of them a lot more switched on than me......

I posted up a couple of years ago when I was looking for an S2K - car was the correct money. A guy proporting to work on an oil rig, car at home. A friend could show it to me.

Actually no it's on the friends drive, but he can still show the car.

Actually no he's away on business and won't be back for a couple of weeks.

Well, rather than waiting a couple of weeks, why don't you just Western Union me a 2k deposit.

PH is full of them sadly.

Never take cash with you.

Only ever view a car on a driveway. Check the address on the V5 matches the house you're viewing it at etc.
