recommend me what products to buy?
I am looking to buy my first entry level polisher. I was thinking of buying the griots 6inch orbital polisher base kit from detailerdomain. Can anyone recommend me some polish, wax or what ever I might need to get started? I am looking to use it on my berlina black s2000. has quite a bit of swirls on it. Sorry If it seems a bit bland, if you need more info about my car I can gladly give you more info. I am looking to purchase tonight so any info that will help will be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

I personally like Mequiars M105 for the heavier stuff and finishing up with M205. I've never used the Griot's polisher but it looks like a good deal. As far as wax and sealants, theres a ton on the market. I've had pretty good results with Wolfgang paint sealant. Someone else will chime in and help ya out.

Pretty much asking for a bomb of opinions here. If doing traditional pads you'll need orange, white, and grey. Orange is a harsh cut, white is less, and grey is a wax pad with the slightest cut to remove any buffer marks.
My personal use:
Orange pad from lake country (LCC) and S&H
White pad from LCC and FMP
Then grey pad from LCC and MSS
Followed by a hand application of the easiest on off wax I've ever used.
You will also see a ton of responses for:
Orange pad and M105
White pad and M205
Or
Menzerna. One I haven't tried because I'm well stocked with other products and I have no clue how to use their numbering system. It would take some time on the chart that I don't need to invest.
You can mix and match for the most part. Looks like the Uber pads from DD are gonna use green over white. S clear is soft so you won't really need a yellow pad or compound. Medium polish will usually do the trick.
Now, to the most important part! Technique is key! Anyone who uses a machine on their car knows that you use the least aggressive method. This means you should find a bad spot and use what I have (or comparable) product for a white/green pad and see if you get the results you expect. If not move to something more aggressive and the orange pad. Hopefully this has helped.

I used to think I knew how to detail until I purchased my S2k. This board has really brought me into the light just by reading. I have learned to like menzerna and griots products. Can't forget about adam's either, their detailing spray is great stuff!
Some others:
303 aerospace protectants and cleaners
Sonax wheel cleaner
Lexol leather products
Our forum sponsor, detailersdomain.com, has some great deals also.
I'd definitely recommend reading some of his posts on paint correction on misc. vehicles and whatever you can else you can find.
Ah, and the Griots polisher will be a good buy. If I'm not mistaken their products come with a satisfaction guarantee.

If you're going to get your polisher from Phil at Detailer's Domain, why not give him a call and talk to him directly about polishes, pads, and supplies. I'm sure he'll get you started properly. He knows S2Ks and knows what is needed.
Hint: you will need more pads and towels than you think.
