ADD (Alabama Detail Day)

ADD (Alabama Detail Day)
Today we had the first ADD (Alabama Detail Day). We had only a few cars show up, but that gave us more time to show some attention to the ones that were here. The goal was to teach and learn about detailing. We did not do a full on detail due to time. In paint correction, our goal was to get an 80% improvement. I feel we exceeded this on all 3 cars. In the end everyone learned something new and got to spend time with fellow members who have a similar passion.
The process (all cars unless noted):
Wash
Clay
Carpet Shampoo (GPW)
Polish (1 stage on the GPW and 2 stage on the BB and 350Z)
Wax - S100
Products on hand to test and use
Sonax
Megs Wheel Bright
S100 (yes the motorcycle wax)
Flex – orange and blue pads
PC – orange and blue pads
Menzerna polishes
ONR – clay lube
Participants – Please add Wacko badges for them, they earned them!

Wheels before
GPW before
Wash process has begun (look Silver is a minority at this event! – this has never happened to me before)
Then a past S owner stopped by to see how things were going.
The GPW had some heavy swirls – more than expected in an 2008.
Hood of the 2006 BB - some very heavy swirling on this baby.
After step one on the BB – this car took more work to correct what the hack that detailed this car previously had done. Loads of swirls and the drivers side was the worst.
The 2 S’s side by side after the process is complete.
Hood shot of the BB after.
Learning to polish with the PC
Testing out the Flex.

Garret you are the man. Really learn a lot from this. Let me know when we can do another and some of the locals with come too. Again thanks. Looks like Detailer's Domain will be getting a new customer at the beginning of the summer. Later Bama Dave.

Here some more pictures of the cars that were done at ADD. We should really plan another for those who couldn't make this. Garret and Rodney really know how to get the car looking new again. To everyone the road trip is worth it. The next time you decide to do this again I will be there for sure. To anyone in the state if you don't really where to start when it comes to detailing your car this is great learning experience and a great way to get everyone together and teach each other. One of my friends from the dragon events asked a lot questions on this last night after I got home. He said that The Black Mamba looked damn good. I again can't say effort about Garret and everyone there yesterday. Later Bama Dave
