Default need help again =( p1129 and car max out at 55 mph@ 6th gear

if u guys already read my other post.

https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/916...#entry21261868

new problem had occurred after i did map whack and got new map sensor.

the code p1129 is still there.. i did a ecu reset and also did the -hold the rpm at 3000 till it get warm thing as well-

The car would run perfect before it reaches normal temperature.. once it hits normal tempt. this is the new symptoms:

1.) every gear have a very low max speed. 1st(20mph) 2nd(25mph) 3rd(35mph) 4th(45mph) 5th(50MPH) 6th(55mph)
2.) if i try gassing pass the max speed for each gear. gas would cut off and cause the car to choke a bit..
3.) when it does this, i turn off the car and start it again and it would run normally...
4.) it only does the max speed thing once the CEL comes on..(p1129 manufacturing control air fuel metering code i got from the obdII reader)

specs and mods:
- ap1 117,xxx miles
- lightweight flywheel possibly 6 pucks clutch
- Laskey head (valves, p&p, springs)
- headers and full exhaust
- AEM code air intake
- aftermarket radiator
-- pretty much it

any input would be great.. thanks in advanced!

the map o-ring is good?

you may need to ck the map wires to the ecu.

I had a car cut off like that, it was the VTEC pressure sensor. Turn the key off and back on, car would be ok till you try to go over the RPM again.

But it would also throw an immediate VTEC code.

try to get the car to trigger a MAP "fast" code.

Turn key on, clear codes. Leave key on, recheck for codes with scanner. Sit there another minute with key on, engine off, see if the code comes up.

if not, start it and idle it ONLY. wait a few minutes, see if the code comes up.

Basically, you're going to try and do as little as possible with the CAR to try to get that code to set.

If you dont have a scanner, go down to autozone and buy a cheap code reader. Best money spent, will be under 90 bucks.

hey billman250,

i just did what u said. when the engine is off @ ON key. 0 code after the code was cleared. still 0 codes after about 5 mins

when the car is on @ idle. the code p0411 comes on. and thats it. the p1129 is not coming back up at idle. waited about 5 mins. still not coming back on even tho the car reached almost normal tempt

notes: a/f around 10.9 at idle. i notice it goes up as i gas it.
also. rpm idle at about 1,950-1100 rpm when the car is close to normal temperature (1 small bar and 2 big 1.)

hello fellow s2ki'er,

do u guys think transmission fluid could be the problem as well? i've noticed when the car is cold. everything is perfect. drives and run beautifully. not a single problem..

just right now, i started the car. drove around the block. waited the engine gets warm n everything. hit v-tec. everything seems perfect.

then i've decided to take it around the block once more before i park her. that last round around the block, the problem occurred again. p1129 popped up. this time no speed limits on the gears.

after i park it. checked the codes again. still the same codes. p1129 and p0411- secondary intake flow inccorect.

before i shut down the engine i've noticed the heat is not that hot. it is warm but not that hot.. thenn i turned off the car and as i was walking away i've noticed my parking isn't perfect lol one ofmy pet-beeve.

i turned on the car. to repark it... then noticed the heat was super hot.... i hope it is not a sign of bad head gasket =(

-engine oil is super clean, not milky, kinda of a clear caramel color. i did not check the coolant reservoir yet.

please help =(

Check the level in the radiator when cold in the morning. Make sure its full.

Trans fluid has nothing to do with your issues.

Get the vac lines hooked up right to rid the car of the P0411.

Why did you do a MAP whack to a brand new MAP sensor?

Make sure the o-ring under the map sensor is there and in good condition.

Where are you getting this AF info from? If its from a VAFC, thats your problem. Get rid of that thing and your problem will go away.
