Water in the trunk!

Water in the trunk!
I've noticed recently that everything in my trunk has been wet and there has been water at the bottom. So a few days ago, I decided to rip out all the lining and found water sitting at the bottom of my trunk. It seems like it would get better or worse, but has been there for a little while. I figured it was because I moved to South Florida and it rains a lot here, it was just leaking from somewhere around the trunk. However, it is not wet anywhere on the top, it seems like it is coming just from the bottom. Anyone have a problem like this or seen anything like it?

I have the same problem, but there wasn't as much water in my trunk as yours. I'm still searching for the cause, but I'll bet it's a small leak around the edge of the soft top. Good luck.

Check the drain tubes for the soft top to make sure they haven't clogged. They exit in front of each rear wheel.
Another place to look is the air vent for the trunk area. You can access it by pulling the rear bumper. The inside will be visible on the left side of the tool recess now that you have removed the trunk lining. It is a black rectangular plastic piece with a flap to let air out. Check to see if the gasket has dried up on the outside. If so, you can reseal the edges of the vent with silicone.

I recently had a JL Audio stealth box installed and when we took the trunk liner out there was a very small amount of water surrounding each plug, or drain hole. No idea how water got there considering nothing else in my trunk was wet or gets wet.
I'm not worried about it though considering it was such a small amount of water.

there are about 4 known causes of leakage, a few threads exist on each. Some have found water coming in around the antennna, some through clogged softop drain holes, some through the air vent behind the bumper (I caulked mine as a precaustion when I had my bumper off), and some from the seal area.
