I'm an owner again!
Finally! After three months or so searching for the “right” car, I’ve found it. I’m picking up a 56 Moonrock/full black GT next Saturday from Brighton Honda. 22,500 miles, very clean, no sign of wear on the hood (previous owner had chainstays fitted), unmarked wheels.
It’s getting four new tyres. The back ones don’t have a lot of life left and the fronts are badly worn on the inside shoulder. The garage are supposed to be sorting the reason for the wear, but I’ll probably get the geo looked at anyway.
I would have missed it if I’d trusted the Honda UK website as it as black/red interior. But I quickly learned not to trust what’s described on the revamped site (no doubt intended to be flashy, but actually just crap - doen't even recognise my postcode). Berlina Black described as metallic, Nurby Blue described as Bermuda Blue etc.

I was doing some research last night and found several threads about inside wear. I think I'll tell them to leave it as is for now and I'll get the whole setup checked later.

If I were you, i'd insist on a full geo based on the tyre wear. I'd also insist you witness it. If you have the famous siezed bushes, it could end up being your problem and costing you a hell of a lot to sort. I don't know many S2000s whihc don't have seized bushes and in this case it may be that the tyre wear hasn't been sorted as they can't adjust the geo...

And here she is.
Five years old, 23,000 miles, and in about as new condition as you could hope to find. Wheels are unmarked. Driver’s seat bolster has hardly any wear. Hood shows no sign of wear (mechanism protected with chainstays in the usual places). The dealer fitted four new tyres, RE050s. MZs on the back but apparently just Zs on the front (MZs for the fronts were available. I had the dealer do a full geometry check and adjustment (just a little was needed). No seized bushes either. She drives straight and true.
However, I stopped smiling two miles into my journey home, when the engine warning light came on. Back to the dealer where it threw up a P2A00 LAF sensor code. The technician looked it up and reckoned it was a faulty sensor or moisture in the exhaust system. He cleared the code, took it for a good drive and all was well. Off I went again.
Five miles later, the light came on again. It’s now booked into my local Honda dealer (Howards, Taunton) for another check and to be put right, all under warranty of course. They want to do their own diagnostics and wanted to charge me for doing so, but Brighton Honda are picking up the tab for this.
The car drives beautifully. In fact, she seems to drive better than the 2004 one that I had from new.
It feels good to be back!
