Help me confirm what I think I know.
2000 S2000
~58K miles
16+ trackdays
Drivetrain mods = 4.77s, 1/2 shaft spacers
After tracking my car all day Monday & Tuesday @ NJMP with a bunch of NSXs my last session coming down the front straight at 110+, I went to downshift from 5th to 4th and I couldn't get it to go in. All subsequent downshift were difficult especially in the higher gears. Upshifts are not an issue.
Long story short, I drove the car home 120+ miles at the speed limit. When coming to complete stops it was as if the car wanted to keep going and felt I hadn't even depressed the clutch but the car would sputter and then idle just fine while there was a bit of forward motion as the driveline tried to move the car forward.
Back home in my garage, everything cold, motor off, clutch depressed, rowing through the gear both up and down = no issues with shifting. As soon as I release the pedal and engage the clutch I have some issues upshifting and lots of issues downshifting.
So, transmission is fine and my clutch is broken?
Confirm?

There are 1000 grams in a kilogram.
So the 975 grams divided by grams in a kilogram (1000) = .975 kilograms.
1.25 + .975 = 2.225 kilograms.
Divide 2.225 by 50 to find amount lost of .0445 which is 4.45%

Your issue is clutch related. Id recommend first to bleed the clutch lines to see if it improves. Check for leaks in the master cylinder and slave unit. If everything looks ok and still have the problem drop the tranny and replace the clutch & pressure plate.

im thinking its your clutch. sounds like it blew up. mine blew up when i downshifted from 6th to 5th. it drove wierd but until i turned it off it couldnt start it up because the clutch blew with the flywheel too! ended up replacing it with a ACT HDSS and no problems.

This happened to me when I had clutch master cylinder leaking. It finally leaked to the point that I did not have enough fluid to engage the clutch. Might be both problems. Billman is usually spot on...
