Default Battery?

Hello, since my s2 is dead and refuses to start up and also having no ride at the moment to be able to do anything about it I am forced to sit at home wondering what might be wrong with my car. It all started last night after work, I got off work started up the car like always and drove home. When I got home I turned the engine off and tried to turn it back on after having it off for only about a minute and it would not start, when I turn the key the battery seems shot (really dim lights, makes a buzzing noise when I try to start the car). So then I jump started the car and drove it around a few miles, the car seemed perfectly fine and even idled fine after start up, besides the dash lights flickering occasionally for some reason when I hit 3-4k rev. I arrived back home turned the car off and attempted to turn it back on but then it will not start up again like the battery had been suddenly drained (dim lights etc.) I am going to go on a limb here by saying that the battery might be old and crappy and is unable to hold a charge anymore? I am currently the third owner of a 2000 ap1 and I think that it still has its first stock battery in there...? can a car battery even last 10+ years?? lol.

Any input into my current situation would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Get your alternator tested.

It's possible. It's also possible that a former owner replaced with stock. My original battery made it about 3 years. Get the battery and alternator tested.

it's your battery. And yes, i've had customer cars with original honda batteries last up to 10 years... especially daily drivers. The constant daily charging/discharging helps maintain your battery. It's the long term and even short term storage that kills a battery's life

Just had to replace mine. When I took off the protective rubber positive post cover my post looked like a Chia Pet and the terminal fell apart in my hand I changed the batt and had to do a splice on the cable. That will also need to be replaced too cause the corossion went down the cable...FML!!
