My DW's are staggered 225 on 8" up front, and 245 on 9" in the rear. I only kept the stagger with them because I had the rims lying around... my RS3's (and before that, my Star specs) are 255 on 9" all around, the non-staggered setup provides more grip and allows the suspension to be tuned to keep the rear in check and put power down really well at autox, without inciting understeer. I greatly prefer the grip and convenience of non-staggered, but my car is not stock.

I think the most important thing is to figure out where your priorities lie. Do you track twice a year and daily drive the other 363 days out of the year? You'll probably want a more street friendly "Max performance" tire like the PSS, DW, or other. Is your car a track toy that seldom sees daily use? Then an extreme performance, or track oriented tire is the way to go.

Just ordered up a set of the michelin pss. I'll report back with info on how they compare the potenza RE-11s in a couple weeks.

PSS have tested better than StarSpecs in the dry, much better in the wet:

For a car that is occasionally tracked but the same tires are used for the street these are excellent.
If I can help let me know.
Jim, why the difference between front and rear? Staggered fitments are half (15,000) for the set on a vehicle. At least that's how I understood it.

Do I need a shop to do the rotation to get the warranty honored?

I have them now after 2 sets of star specs and one set of ad07 and these are better and it's not close.

Tire rack needs to move them from the max to extreme category

Better than the star specs? Real reals? Did you track on both?

I wish they did a track test. PSS are a full blown street tire designed to generate peak grip at lower temps seen on the street and a short single autocross run. My guess is that the PSS fall off much faster and produce much slower lap times in a track environment when compared to star specs, R-S3, AD08 and other tires in the extreme performance category.
