wiring AEM Tru Boost with AEM EMS Series 2
I'm trying to figure out which is the correct or best way to wire the boost solenoid. I did a search but wasn't able to find a definite answer.
1) The AEM Series 2 (30-6052) manual says to connect one wire of the boost solenoid to a switch 12+ volt line and the other wire to pin D16 on the EMS.
2) However on the Tru Boost (39-4350) manual, it shows the two wires of the boost solenoid being connected to the gauge/controller.
For those with the AEM Series 2, which way (#1 or #2?) did you guys connect it? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each setup? I don't want to splice wires into the EMS if I don't have to.

Use the 'D block' connector and follow the pin instructions provided in your AEM instruction booklet. Polarity of the wiring is irreverent.
edit- oops that is only really useful for aem 1052 series 1.

After thinking about it back and forth for a while, I think I'm planning to wire the solenoid to the Tru Boost gauge/controller, or else you may not be able to take advantage of the Tru Boost gauge/controller, like it is wired in the Tru Boost manual.
I think if you ONLY had the MAC solenoid and no Tru Boost gauge/controller, you would hook it up to the series 2 EMS as an accessory like below.

It depends which device you want to control the solenoid.
If you want the EMS to control it connect one wire to D16 (or whatever pin controls the boost solenoid on your EMS) and the other the +12V.
If you want the Tru Boost to control the solenoid (and as you have one I'm guessing that's what you want) connect both wires to the Tru Boost. It supplies +12V on one and ground on the other. Not sure which one it switches but it's irrelevant.
The EMS and Tru Boost provide the same function, but only one or the other can do it. The Tru Boost provides better optional settings and monitoring in the cabin.

In just about any AEM Tru Boost Gauge and Controller product description there is text that says that the product is STANDALONE meaning it can function all on its own even without an ems.
