Default My S2000 got broken into.. :brokehrt:

So on Tuesday night, my S2000 got broken into. I got a call Wednesday morning on my way to class from UC Irvine Police Department saying that they need to talk to me about my vehicle. I go to the parking lot and find my car broken into.. The tail lights were taken, and the soft top was completely gutted. Also, my s2k was found in the middle of the parking lot and not in its parked spot with the wheel turned. The hood was also opened and the bolts on my K&N FIPK intake were loosened. I'm guessing that the thief was trying to steal the car because I think some of the little tabs are missing from my fuse box, and the tail lights are also blinking abnormally fast. Whoever did this knew what he was doing because EVERYTHING, from all my LED lights (dome, trunk from js2k.com), broadway mirror, to even my keyhole covers were stolen. My moddiction shift knob was gone, and my auxiliary cable/ipod charger for my headunit was gone as well. About two weeks before, somebody had stolen my OEM clear sidemarkers from my car, and I have a feeling it was the same guy. Crime Scene Investigation also came and did fingerprints/DNA on my car but they told me I would be out of luck if they wore gloves.. It was seriously one of the worst days of my life.. I called insurance but they said they would call me back within 48 hrs.

My deductible is $1,000 with State Farm Insurance, but I was wondering what you guys think will happen. I'll find out from the insurance company soon, but nothing like this has ever happened to me and I don't really know what to do.. it's been a tough week.
I hope I'll come up on some insurance money for my ripped top and tail lights, and make it better than ever. First thing I'm goign to do is invest in a Viper alarm, should've done that when I first got the car.. Thanks for the help guys, and please be careful with your s2ks, you never know.. I'm just speechless

Here's some pictures

I also need to be on the lookout just in case somebody is on the forums trying to sell my parts. Sigh..

You'll get dealer retail (or whatever your the adjuster think they can be obtained for), plus probably install labor for the OE parts taken, and something for the other stuff (possibly replacement cost or a little less), minus your deductible.

If you put the top and lights on yourself, you could actually come out ahead.

Did they take the seats?

For this kind of stuff, I have comprehensive at a $200 deductable, and $1000 for a collision that's my fault.

Wonder how long it took them to do all that? No one saw anything?

State Farm has always treated me very fairly. Sadly it seems it was a S2K owner who may have done it. Good luck.

Sorry, this is the worst thing for any owner. Karma is headed their way. I couldn't imaging doing the same to any ones vehicle. Hope State Farm cuts you a nice check and takes care of you.

jeez. surprised they took the tails and not the headlights? Most definitely a s2000 owner who wanted certain parts..probably not going to be sold, in my opinion. That really sucks

It was broken into at UCI? ugg damn thieves man. Very sorry to hear that. Even if insurance did cover it and you restore her back. If the same idiot who did that to your car you suspect came back for the second time. Wouldn't you freak out that they'd try it again? bastards.. A pox on them, and their families.
