Default Tyre dilemma - multiple changes

I'm having a tyre dilemma.

Rears are getting low and I would normally replace with RE050a but there are no 16" tyres available at present and no-one knows when the next batch will arrive.

Falken FK452 would seem a reasonable replacement as most people seem to get on with them perfectly well.

However, there are a few reports that the Falkens overheat very quickly on track, and as I'm off to Spa soon, I need something suitable for that (there are a few conflicting reports that they are pretty good on track, notably from m1bjr, though his are attached to his 3er.)

AD08 are the wrong speed rating in the 16" size (V not W) so are possibly illegal here and AFAICT very illegal in Belgium, so I won't put those on the car.

I'm therefore thinking R888 (A048 are too expensive) which I could use for Spa, and keep on the car til October and the Donington track day.

I could then get some Falkens (or RE050as if they are available by then) and carry on happily for the winter.

Assuming the R888s still have some tread left, I'd get them removed from my wheels and then put back on for next year's track day season.

Will the R888s withstand being put on, taken off and then put back on the wheels?
Am I being too picky with regards to the AD08s and the speed rating?

Any other ideas?

Thanks all.

How often do you drive at speeds above 150mph?

Never, but that's not the issue - it's one of legality.

From Wiki:
In many countries, the law requires that tires must be specified, and fitted, to exceed the maximum speed of the vehicle they are mounted on, with regards to their speed rating code (except for "Temporary Use" spare tires). In the European community, tires that are not fit for a car's or motorcycle's particular maximum speed are illegal to mount. The sole exception are M+S tires, where a warning sticker stating the allowed maximum speed must be placed within clear sight of the driver inside the vehicle.

They would be ok on my car as I cannot get above 150mph

It is a bit pointless making them 'illegal' when they are rated at over twice the maximum speed limit.

don't forget the load rating - it's not just about the max speed.

If you fit a load / speed rating that is lower than OEM then you run a very real risk of the insurers saying your tyres weren't up to the job (on paper, at least) and washing their hands of any issue.

EU wide. In some parts of the EU, 150 is below the maximum speed limit.
