Default 1999 Civic Si vs 2012 Civic Si

Not sure how many of you have seen this yet, but this is a very interesting article: http://www.insideline.com/honda/civi...-civic-si.html

Basically the new car is faster in a straight line, but far softer and less fun to drive.

its a 1999 si you mean. Yeah I would expect that. The older hondas seem more fun. Light weight cars are just fun to me

I guess it's like the muscle car thread from last week, where many guys preferred the older muscle car, regardless of the performance/safety/efficiency deficit. The new Si is better in every way when compared to the old one (from an objective, numerical standpoint) but it does go to show that there's more to a car than just performance. Feel, fun and even nostalgia all play big roles. I'll be the first to admit I'm still in love with the slow, outdated S2000 and would gladly buy another if the right opportunity presented itself, despite the fact that an MS3 would kill it at the track or a Mustang GT would leave it for dead in just about any performance contest...

I have a 2000 si as DD and yes it's a little fun car
The Vtec is a little silly compare to my CR but still a fun car
I was gonna get ep3 or 2006 or newer si as my DD but I always liked the Em1 and it has double wishbone suspension and newer Sis dont
Plus they are only made between 99-00 so they are somewhat rare too

99 si are not that great I dont care. Look at the real facts SIMPLE BOLT-ONS AND FLASHPRO AND YOUR HITTING 13S...WOW

The k series spins circles around the old bseries engines. The olny good thing about the older civic si is the double wishbone.

Oh yeah and the older civic si ran a 15.7 and 0-60 in 7.6 back in the day. This was an older civic with 123,xxx miles
