Default Replacing V1 Radar with ...

Hi,

I currently have the V1 radar hard wired. I am replacing it with the 9500ix with the direct cord hard wire as well. Is it pretty much swapping out the V1 wires and installing the 9500ix wires the same exact way? No additional crimping needed?

Thanks.

Or, can I just use the V1 hard wire for the 9500ix? Than I won't have to uninstall anything except for the concealed display and wires.

pretty sure V1 has a unique input socket, my 9500 was very easy to hardwire ~ 15 minutes, looks like a factory install.

V1 uses the same phone jack for power input. I'm using the V1 direct wire to power the 9500ix.

Is it possible to show me a picture of how you installed it in the fuse? Did you need to get an add a fuse or something? Where did you crimp the 9500ix direct cord to?

Did you just plug it in to one of the open accessory ports?

Actually, the V1 hard wire has a female spade plug at the end while the 9500ix has a male spade plug. Do I just get a male to female converter and use the same port as my V1 is currently hardwired into?

Was able to switch out the hard wiring kit which was pretty simple. Just waiting on my blendmount for a cleaner install.

Let me know how the blendmount works out for you. I've looked at their products before, but $80 seemed like a lot for a bracket.

The fuse plugs straight in the fuse box (I got a hardwire kit that came with my 9500), I just routed it under the rubber molding all around to the passenger sunvisor and I grounded it in one of the multiple grounds under the dashboard, can't see any wire at all - the 9500 is held on by a sunvisor mount clip

I was able to switch the hard wire. The 9500ix came with a male spade plug. Just had to cut it and attach a female spade plug.

I bought the blendmount and installed it. Kind of a tight fit. Going to try and install it one more time. But I think I'm going to return it.
