ss04's pursuit for OEM-ish perfection - Car is SOLD! NSX-T is the replacement :)
This thread has been a long time coming for me. I picked up my S in September '07, and it's been quite a journey since then. I will continue to add to this thread, although I really don't think there is much more I want to do to her, other than boost. I'm sure I will find some small things here and there.
I know my S isn't very modded compared to some on this site, but I hope you guys enjoy my thread

September 2007 - I picked her up with an ugly C-west front end and sideskirts on it. I couldn't wait to lose both of them . She only had 23,000 kms (14,000 miles) on her at the time.
May 2008 - First Mods
- Dropped on KW V3's with F/R T1R Bumpsteer kits
- Brand new front AP2 headlights and tail lights to replaced scratched up ones that came with the car (I'm super picky lol)
- New AP2 V1's to replace existing curbed rims
- K&N FIPK Intake
- OEM front bumper
- Removed C-west sideskirts
October 2008 - Facelift
Picked up an E-Auto (yes, a replica) Amuse R1 front bumper. Some of you will probably recognize these shots, I've gotten many PM's about them over the last couple years
One week later :
My neighbor backed into me, causing almost 3k of damage (door, fender + emotional damage). I was glad she missed the front bumper though!
December 2008
I drove it around with the smashed up fender for a while before winter came. I turned lots of heads and saw a lot of painful faces when people looked at the car. These were the last shots of the car before it went in for cosmetic surgery.
My 1982 Tercel that I rocked that winter while Stella was in pieces

Winter 2008 - A labour of love
- Found a replacement door (not in the photos) and replacement fenders
- Ferrari Grigio Silverstone complete colour change inside and out
- Ings+1 Rear Bumper
- Front/Rear fenders rolled
- Radio antenna shaved
- All panels block sanded and levelled
- Car stripped down as much as possible without pulling the block - I dismantled every single panel and body piece to do this colour change PROPERLY! I have had many terrible experiences with bodyshops, so I decided to do everything myself except for the prep/paint. I even went to the extent of ordering all the factory labels for the underside of the hood and the door jambs... I still haven't put them all back on
- Black chrome OEM emblems (I still have the sides and front - debating whether to install them)
- Mishimoto radiator installed since I took the OEM one out to paint the engine bay
My cramped workspace for the next 2 months
Bobbi - my trusty sidekick. I miss you Bobbi. RIP
Flatbed time!
At the shop
I would drop in on these guys twice a day I swear. I made sure everything was perfect and they hated every minute of it
Spraying started
I was sooooo excited.
Back into my cramped workspace
All body panels were not aligned yet - I did that over the next week or so making everything perfect.
