Default Science of Speed directionally vaned rotors

Just picked up a set of the new Science of Speed brake rotors with directional cooling vanes for the NASA AZ night event this weekend.

I had popped in to SoS to check on a buddies HardDog bar and harness install and the guys showed me their new brakes rotors.

After 65k miles including over 2000 track miles I figured I was way past over due on new rotors and picked up a set of fronts.

Track testing will commence 10am Saturday!

I have way better pics from the install I will post after this weekends event along with a write up on my impressions.

= APM Racing Rotors?

Does look like a great and cheaper alternative to 2 piece rotors.

That is the fish hook design they use on big $$ Alcon brakes right? Or there is the ASM AP Racing kit for $9,600...

Would be curious for feedback and reviews

P.S. 2,000 track miles?? Don't most people go through a set of rotors in 1 or 2 track days?

Bought a set last week from SoS... My car has no engine in yet so I can't test them. Have a new set of OEM pads for when I get going though... They said the rotor was made by Speed Engineering. Bought matching back rotors too. No vane just has the claw mark to match the fronts.

Gonna take non cell phone pics tomorrow

any performance reason for that? It looks bitching and all but just wondering why.

Maybe I should CAD that thing up and run simulation on COSMO, any chamfering on the fish hook?

these things a good idea? normally the entrance for air is in the back of the rotor, and i think everyone does it that way for a reason. also, lots of people have brake ducting, and that directs air to the back, where the vanes and air entrances normally are. this probably makes ducting less effective. why did they cover the back and have the vents in the front?

Love that design! Bummer though, cause I just installed some Powerslot rotors a couple months ago.

What is the price on these for all 4 corners?

Back rotor

Front

Was just looking to get new rotors for my car... was going to get slotted ones but emailed SoS and they offered me these new ones they were going to be selling.

they were less than 100 a piece for the fronts and like ~70ish for the rears so I figured that wasn't a bad deal... and I'd rather give SoS my money so they can come out with new products for the S
