Default MB's latest modification thread...

Hmmm, another one

I'm keeping the S now, but have some plans for it... leeping it and using is as mainly a track car gives options for a tasty road car, which i've wanted ofr a while.

My plan here is fairly simple, remove turbo kit and install some track based NA mods. I will be modifying it a little bit more extreme than the last one. The last S I had was spot on, but I want to better it Needs to be ready in a couple of months too.

I want it lighter, with better brakes & brake cooling, plus a rear wing. On top of that will come all some NA mods and coilovers, light wheels and some bracing work. I will be going for a different final drive too. Seats and harness bar / cage is something to look into also.

I've actually bought a lot of nice parts already, and they are on the way

Budget wise i'm trying to keep sensible, as you can easily go too far and the car has limited amounts you can get from it once you get past a certain point. For me it's just something I like to tinker with

First step is to remove the turbo kit, which i'm selling. This sounds easy but it actually requires quite a bit of thought, as I didn't get any OEM bits with the car. I need to take it all off, put back the OEM injectors (which are away for cleaning and testing) then get my old Mase map into the ECU, and see if it runs! From there I need to get the clutch swapped as I don't need the Competition clutch without the turbo.

Got all the kit removed today, just got to do the injectors tomorrow

J's bumper is much easier to remove than the OEM one...

Alas I found my AC is leaking badly, so i'm going to have to sort that out somehow...

Crap pic but all ready to start installing NA bits

Won't be going for ITB's, Rob. They are very expensive and I don't think you get much more than you can with cams and good breathing mods. If I thought it would net a lot of power then yes, but i've seen too many people go for them and not really get much.

Kitesurfer, no I won't miss the power!

I got another 20 ish bhp from my last S, so I will aim for that and a bit more.

If it's track based junk the AC don't waste money repairing it.
Light flywheel whilst clutch is off, ITB's? If it was me I'd junk the roof and motors and fit a Mugen / spoon ht

You didn't put build or project in the thread title

Please promise us that you'll be happy with this one once it is done.

Should be good.

What bits of the AC are leaking? I'm in the process of stripping mine out...
