I'm looking for a cheap, light exhaust for my car. Random JDM singles are a dime a dozen in the Marketplace forum, but I have no idea if any of them are loud enough to exceed the 100 dB limit for SCCA Solo. Making things tougher still is the fact that one of my "local" Tours, San Diego, has a sound limit that's 93 dB, not the standard 100 dB.
So, my question -- can those of you who have run at an SCCA national-level event in 2010 post what exhaust you ran? I'll update this post with all of the replies, so over time this will become a list of known-legal exhausts.
If you've run at San Diego or another 93 dB lot, please mention that as well -- I'll maintain a 93 dB list too.

The rules say the sound meter should be fifty feet away from a full throttle section. Sound measurements can vary based on a bunch of factors, though, including weather.
The approach I'm going to take here is if an exhaust ever failed a sound check, it'll get bumped to the next level of the list (93 dB --> 100 dB --> non-compliant). That way, as we build the data set, we should be pretty confident that the exhausts on the list should be pretty safe at the quoted sound levels.
Some places say 20 feet.
Some people say its supposed to be 20 inches at a 45 degree angle from the tip of the exhaust which even the stock exhaust wouldn't pass.
That's great, but the SCCA rules are unambiguous. Just apply common sense -- given that the rules say 50 feet, don't reply to the thread if your events are sampled from a significantly different distance (closer or farther).
I have a custom 3 inch from the bottom of the header which is toda and cut where it goes from 2 to 1 by the lower flange.
the exhaust is 1 piece that is straight from that to a 45 deg bend to drivers side under is a borla muffler straight through with another 45 heading to the drivers side again.
at laguna I blow 100-101 on normal days...intake is comptech supercharger intake
Laguna sound is 50 feet off and this is SCCA racing
This photo shows the only bends in my system and the muffler which is also 3 inch oval
o and I have 2 vbands one on the muffler which you can see and the other on the header
The key is to point away from the sound reader. if I pass someone on the right of them it is extremely loud for them
