Broken Hanger for Clutch Release Fork
A couple of weeks ago I broke the hanger for the clutch release fork. The clutch is OEM. Any of you racers had this problem? I would expect after market pressure plates with increased clamping pressure to do this even more often.
This problem seems to be unheard of on the Under the Hood Forum. I am still waiting for the part. It is not stocked in the eastern warehouses.
The parts that broke are # 5 & 6 on this drawing.
Item #5 is HANGER, CLUTCH RELEASE
Item # 6 is SPRING, RELEASE HANGER

Bueller? Anyone?

I just had my clutch fork finger break on me. I was driving from El Paso, TX to Los Angeles. 300 miles into my drive i stopped to put gas, as i was getting ready to drive out of the gas station the clutch pedal would not go down. i was like WTF, That meant the car wouldn't start. i forced the pedal down with all my force, somehow I was able to start the car in first gear and it started rolling forward. i timed the shifting without having to press on the clutch pedal. i also timed every signal light so i would get green lights in the city. i got to Tucson AZ not knowing what was wrong, the shop conformed the fork broke (Special Order) item it would take 5 days to get it. Basically the fork fell to where i couldn't press on the clutch pedal. i wiggled the fork out of place and the pedal went down allowing me to start the car. I made it to LA with a broken clutch fork. At every light i stopped at, i had to turn the car off, put the car in 1st gear, press the clutch petal, DO NOT press on the brake, turn the key to on, and press the start button. the car will turn on jerk once or twice and start rolling then you can shirt up and make it to your destination.
