Suspension problem from track accident
Hi guys,
I also posted this in the suspension forum but haven't gotten any responses. Hopefully you guys can help me out.
I had a recent off at Thunderhill and went into the ditch out of turn 6. Most of the impact was to the passenger side front and rear wheels. The car still drives, but I wanted to check if any suspension components were damaged. I took the car to an alignment shop and they were not able to get the car into the specs I had before. They said they couldn't see any visible damage to the suspension, and that I just needed to replace the ball joints in order to get the correct amount of camber and toe that I requested. Do you guys think that new ball joints are all I need? I don't know if anything else could have been bent that maybe he just couldn't visually see.
I requested the following specs:
Front Camber: -1.5
Front Toe: 1/8" out
Rear Camber: -2
Rear Toe: 1/8" in
Caster: Max

I think a control arm or tie-bar would bend before the subframe.
Unless there is a major spot on the rear subframe where it hit "high-center" on something....I would inspect my tie arm and control arms in the rear.

I'd be willing to bet rear upright is bent.
The uprights bend very easily and it is hard to see visually
Check the gap of the outer tie rod vs backing plate on the left side versus right side.

Thanks for the responses guys. I have no idea how to check those items. The body shop told me that an alignment guy would be able to pin point the problem. Guess not. Is there any place that would be able to do a proper inspection and tell me what I need to replace?
