Default Which OEM coils are the best?

There are three different coils for the S.

2000-2003 30520-PCX-007 ($93 a piece)
2004-2005 30520-PNA-007 ($47 a piece)
2006- 30520-PZX-007 ($69 a piece)

Why are the AP1 coils the most expensive if they are the worst and why are the first gen AP2's 2004-2005 so cheap if they are supposed to be better than the Ap1's?

Also, the Acura RSX Type-S coils are the same number 30520-PNA-007 as the first gen AP2's 2004-2005.

Which coils are the best?

I would go with the 04-05 coils because they are proven at high hp.

They look the same just with different part numbers. I heard a few guys had spark problems near 600whp with ap1 coils.

RSX Type-S and the 04-05 S coils are the same from what I have found out, but they are also the cheapest. It's just weird that the cheapest coils are the best........

My 15k original mile 02 AP1 coils have been just fine at 700 whp on e85. I believe this best OEM coil thing could be a myth and the real problem may just lie in the mileage on the coils, but hopefully someone that knows can chime in.

BTW, this isnt for me, its for a buddy that is having problems with his AP1 coils with 90k miles on them and trying to make 680 whp on e85. We swapped in lower mile AP1 coils off another buddies car that only has 60k miles and they worked fine. this is why I am suspect that its the mileage on the coils that make them weaker and not the actual coil by part number. Who knows?

Also, all RSX coil packs are the same part number. Whether be a base RSX or type S.

You don't know how to search by now???

Here you may want to read this thread.
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...f=142&t=709533
According to many of the S2000 masters PT# 30520-PNA-007 are the coil that will put down the power and not have issues. The cheapest I can find them shipped is right at $300 for a set.
Are you blowing out the spark? Why the change?

I guess I could have done that, but was in a hurry and didnt have time to search through the site. LOL

I'm not blowing out spark but my buddy is. I'm really starting to think it has to do with the mileage on the coils, not the different coils by part number.

If I have any problems though, I'd like to stick with the OEM coils if I can. Thatsa another reason for this thread. To find out if the better OEM coil thing is a myth or not.
