I'm gonna kick my own ass if I have a problem the next time I start the car but:
MY '00
VIN 8433 (toward the end of the model year)
Bought the car in '02 with 4802 on the odometer. Drove it until '05 NA with Chevron 10W-30 conventional. Comptech SC/AC since '05 with about 53K on the clock now using Schaeffers 7000 synthetic or Amsoil 5W-40 Euro synthetic.
No TCT issues in over a decade.
Bill and Vegas - 'splain to me what I did right.

114k. Original unmodified tensioner.
I'd still like to hear some theories pertaining to the folks like us who've never had an issue.

I've thought about changing mine out as a PM measure from time to time but whenever one of these threads is bumped I think I should leave well enough alone.

I just installed my brand new TCT about 9k miles and it's already acting up. I am always perfect on oil and add when needed. I check my oil every other day and now not only when it's warm it will do it for 10aeconds...sometimes all the time at a stop as well. I need some help! Maybe it's the oil pressure? Is my pump bad perhaps?
