I searched and didn't find an answer. I don't know why it wouldn't fit but figure someone here will know. I would like to ditch the current tan and found black from a '05 locally.

All 00-05 carpet is the same, it will all fit. The 06+ s2000's are slightly different on the passenger side. It will still fit, but will have a bump that is under the seat that you can't even see. So yes, the 05 carpet will go in perfectly.
