So is the symptom a constant flicker of the dash lights at idle?

I still don't see how a slab of solid metal goes bad.
This took 15 minutes to replace.

mine you can tell really bad when the ac is on and at idle.

Well my car left me stranded today on my way home from work. Luckily I was only 5 or 6 miles from home. Is it confirmed that replacing the rectifier will fix the alternator? My dash was flickering for about a year now so I guess it was time to go.
