Default Exactly which GT30 is used to upgrade the...

I love the low end torque of my greddy t518z, but it does seem to choke up top. I guess that's the trade off with a small turbo.

I have done a bit of research on using a GT30, but I can't quite figure out which one I'm supposed to use. Like what AR? What compressor housing? (for a bigger intake to the turbo) Will I have to modify anything for water cooling? Ball bearing or not? I know it's a t25 flange housing exiting with a 5 bolt. But I need exacts on the other stuff.

If EngineerX and Revenge could chime in that'd be great as they were the pioneers.

I am not looking for a lot of top end here, I just don't want the turbo to be maxed out/ out of it's efficiency range/ choke up. Getting a little more top end wouldn't hurt, but I autox and road course race my car, so the low end grunt/ quick spool is great.

I still want it to be internally gated as well seeing as I will be using the greddy manifold and the down pipe.

Thanks.

I am wondering this as well. But from what I've read you have to upgrade pretty much everything. If I can just replace turbo and injectors I would be happy.

The internally wastegated GT3071R might do the trick. Not sure how easy it will bolt up though.

From reading posts about this it should be a bolt on affair. The turbine housing has to be a t25 so it will fit the greddy manifold, i.e. bolt on. All you'd have to do is cut the ends off the intake and first charge pipe (the ones that bolt to the turbo) and get some couplers and t-bolts then connect it all. Also a new tune.

Atleast that's what I'm gathering...

I think the GT30s are water cooled also but I can't remember, so I'm thinking you'd have to figure that out also.

Negative. The stock greddy dp bolts right up. What you need to worry about most is making sure the actuator fits. You're going to need a bracket for it. The GT3071R on ATP's site bolts right up. I have it on mine right now. Just search for EngineerX's thread, all the information is there.

yea but apparently without upgraded downpipe not much more power is to be made.should see bigger gains with a free-er flowing downpipe even thought the greddy manifold should chocke it up quite a bit..

Anyways italyn stalyn was the upgrade to a 3071r worth the money...ill be thinking of this route maybe next summer just want it to be worth the thousand dollars..

We would need larger injectors than the 550's as they wouldn't cut it right?
