Yeah, they're actually just down the road from me! So there's no way of getting a combined key and alarm fob then?

I think you should have a go at transfering the internals of your existing fob remote into the Audi/VW style retractable key type fob.
The battery size of the Hamilton fobs is the limiting factor.

What about the immobiliser chip in the existing key? Won't you need that too?

Glad this thread appeared as I have needed a new FOB for ages now.

Just ordered one from Hamilton from a very nice lady, £41-13 all in and a set of instructions, its seems you do have to ask for them!

sorry to hi-jack...although trunkie you may be interested as it looks better than our original!

I also have a MY00 and I've got this keyfob: http://www.remotekey.co.uk/htdocs/im...nda-keyfob.jpg (the one on the left with boot release)

I have no idea what Honda it's suppose to be for but I've tried to sync it, but with no luck. Anyone else used this fob?

The ebay key has an immobiliser chip in it. Dealers can program this when cutting the key. Just wanted to make sure I could synch it before shelling out on cutting...

It is for a 2000 (ish) Honda Civic, my Mum had one yonks ago and that was the remote control unit she had.

No idea how to programme it though, sorry!

When I bought my S from a Honda dealer, I asked them to order me a new fob. The one that came in was this one.

When they gave it to the mechanics they tried to sync it and it wouldn't work. Or rather it would but it didn't sync to the immobiliser so it wouldn't start the car but would open it.

Apparently it is not for the system that is in the S. They sent it back and got a proper one instead.
