Default BuddyClub Racing Spec FYI

Got my Coilovers in and went to install. When I started to thread the bottom OEM bolt into the coilover, it wouldn't thread into the nut attached to the Coilover. Called the vendor who called BuddyClub. They were told that the thread is Japan Spec(which I thought was just metric?), that I should chisel off the nut on the Coilover and use another nut with the same thread...

Which for me is fine. Easy access to machine shop. Just thought others should know the Racing Spec Dampers are not a direct bolt on item...

My only concern is that I was sent the wrong model. Can anyone verify the model number for AP2 application?

The pic shows the farthest the bolt will go in. All four are this way.

I'm curious about this too. I was looking to get the buddy club racing spec dampers, but I wanted to just install them and not go through that hassle

thats weird. I installed their N+ coilovers the other day and had no issues. I wonder why the racing spec would be so different?

hope you get an answer.

Not necessarily. I installed my RSD last year with no problem, honestly, I just used the factory bolts for the for the fork to control arm.

Never heard of and can't find any other mention of this issue. Trying to get model number from BuddyClub but no luck. Maybe it's a bad run, maybe they changed them. I don't know.

If it was just one of the coilovers I would chalk it up to an odd chance occurence. All four are this way though.
