Default T1 - Full Race, Precision 6262 Setup

I've been a customer at T1 Race Development for a while now and have been more than happy with the service and quality of work they put out of their shop. I started with a Vortech setup that was making 390 at the rear wheel, thinking that would be enough power at one point..

Then decided to get some real boost going this year. Sold the Vortech setup a while back and shortly there after the car went into T1 to get started on a turbo setup.

My goal was to reach 500 wheel power in the S2000 on pump gas, to get close to my Z06 which makes 510/475 with mild modifications. Tony recommended a Precision 6262 journal bearing turbo and the Full Race Prostreet turbo manifold, but also mentioned that on lower boost levels this manifold is notorious for boost creep; which was definately not wanted on my unopened motor. His solution was to mate a 60mm Tial wastegate to the Full Race manifold instead of the standard 44mm.

Precision 6262 JB turbo .82 ar
Precision 750hp intercooler
ID 1000s
AEM EMS 1052
Walbro 255
Full Race manifold
60mm Tial wastegate
Tial Q Bov
T1 dump tube
T1 downpipe
T1 aluminum ic piping
+more

Result 497rwhp/324ft lbs @ 13psi on 93 octane.
(sorry for the crappy photo of dyno sheet)

Dyno of the old Vortech setup vs. the new Turbo setup:

Gotta thank Tony and the guys at T1 Race for getting my setup put together and making this car what it is today.

The car:

Very nice!

I wonder why the horsepower is falling off at the top being its only 13 psi of boost and the 6262 should pull hard all the way to redline? I would think the tq should be more of a straight line to redline but the hp falling off is causing it to drop. Do you know why this is happening?

Not sure myself.

Maybe Tony could offer some insight if sees this thread.

It's mostly likely getting increased exhaust backpressure from somewhere: exhaust, turbine wheel, turbine housing....

So even with a constant 13psi intake manifold pressure, it's going to lose torque/hp with the increased exhaust backpressure.

I wouldnt think it would have increased exhaust backpressure though with a tubular manifold. I could see this with a log type manifold though but not with this.

I'm running a T1R-70R EM exhaust which is 70mm, not quite 3" (~2.75") after the 3" downpipe, possibly a factor.

So did Tony have any problems controling boost at that or lower levels?

That is a great number for only 13PSI, that is unbelievable.

Apparently not, here's the boost plot he sent over to me:
