Default Tire Sizes for Stock Rims

Alright before people start, I tried the search but was not able to find an answer, everything seem to relate to the AP1 rim size and aftermarket wheels...

I am in need of tires for my '05 AP2 running the AP2v1 wheels.

I would like to go with the Dunlop Direzzas. What I would like to know is if a wider tire will fit under the car front and rear and what they are. Once I know I would evaluate if it is a worth while change, it appears the car likes about a 25% wider tire in the back then the front...

I also plan on lowering the car on a Tein-S springs around the same time.

Any help would be appreciated

option 1: 215/45-17 F, 245/40-17 R (stock AP2 sizes)
option 2: 215/45-17 F, 255/40-17 R (stock CR sizes)
option 3: 225/45-17 F, 255/40-17 R

Thanks guys for the input, I was thinking I could go with option 3 based on looking at the car and reviewing tire sizing.

If you go with the 255/40-17 R, will you have to change the offset? Or can you just slap 'em on? Sorry for the noob question.

The CR has the 255/40-17 on the car. The stock rims have a +65 offset so you should be able to mount them without having to make any changes.

**EDIT** that is with the stock height. I am not sure if the car is lowered if any mods need to be done.

I'm in the same boat. I wanna do 255 in rear and 215 in front like the Cr but what benefit is there to this. I'm dropped on swift springs and all mods are listed in the sig. Anybody done this or got any info.
