Default PHOTOS: Colorado Mini-Meet October 2-5 2009

These photos aren't how I hoped to start this thread but since I can't get my Photobucket upload to work on this slow connection I have in Salida, Colorado right now, I'm going to just post a sampling from the past few days using the S2ki album setup. I know people took a lot of photos and they'll get going once they're home and have time. Jerry and I won't be home until Thursday night.

Jerry and I left southern California on Thursday morning, spent the night in Flagstaff and drove into Ignacio/Durango on Friday evening. There was a big shindig at Jim and Chris's cabin Friday evening.

^Jerry and Vyk meeting for the first time in the Sky Ute Casino Resort on Friday night.

^Jim, Billy, Jerry and Vyk at Jim and Chris's cabin on Friday night.

^Granny talking to a neighbor of Jim's, Tom, at the cabin.

^Marva watching Tom and Orval.

^Granny taking a photo of Tom and Orval.

^Billy, Diane and Jim and Tara.

^Vito and Deb.

^We had my Suzuka from California, Jim's Rio from Texas, Jerry's NFR from California, and Vyk's Apex Blue CR all the way from Florida.

^Jim and Marva in Silverton.

EDITED for larger images.

These photos are from Monday. Jerry and I left the Sky Ute Casino Resort to drive up to Aspen through Durango, Silverton, Montrose, etc. but we encountered rain that turned into snow. I was scared breathless. Since we were driving up a mountain road, all we could do was keep driving as the conditions changed, waiting for the first pullout to turn around and go back to Durango.

^This was where we pulled out at Coalbank Pass (10,640 feet). It was 31 degrees F and snowing. I hit the potty and then we tried to leave the parking lot, spinning our rear tires. I watched Jerry spin and finally get on the road again, and was trying to get on behind him before another car got in between us. I'm a Cali girl and have not driven in snow, so I was very proud of myself when I finally got back on the road after about four tries of going forward and backward, each time choosing a more level incline up to the road. Everyone was driving very slowly with their flashers on.

^Where's Jerry??

^Oh, there he is! Phew.

^Ah! Just wet now. Breathe!

^This is the cabin I'm sitting in as I type this. We spent last night here and will stay again, tonight. Time to go explore.

*EDIT* I changed the photos from Photobucket so they're larger.

BTW, I figure I'll get some questions about how did I take photos while driving. It's easy after doing it for thousands of miles.

Ah Patty, when it's snowing and you've got slick roads and an S2000, both hands on the wheel please, Put the camera away.
