Can we run a 275 A6 Hoosier on a 7.5" rim?

It will probably fit but with such a narrow footprint from the wheel...your contact patch will be sacrificed . I'd also worry about extra stress around the edge of the belt package.

After hearing about the AP2's running a 275/295 tire combo, I thought about the AP1. I ran a 265 Kumho before, but the 225 front was too narrow. With the Hoosiers, a 245/275 combo will work but the rear tires are taller than the fronts and that may screw up the ABS.
The 265 Kumho's had a lot of pinch on the 7.5 rear wheels, I can't imagine fitting the 275's on a 6.5 inch rim. If it can be done, I would love to try it though I think the excessive pinch would make it a waste.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I really appreciate it and if I decide to go with a 245F / 275R combo I plan on doing a full write up on it. Note that I am not a suspension engineer or tire specialist by any means. But I'm an engineer, and good at scouring the internet for information.
For your reference, here is the link giving the specs on the hoosier A6:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?mak...tirePageLocQty=
Here are the relevant specs on each of the tires that could be stuffed on to the rear 7.5" stock AP1 rim:
205/45ZR16
LL 6.5-7.5" -Recomended Wheel Width
7" Meas.Rim
8.7" Width Sect.
8" Width Tread
22.8" Width Overall Diam.
225/50ZR16
SL 6-8" -Recomended Wheel Width
7" Meas.Rim
9.5" Width Sect.
9" Width Tread
24.7" Width Overall Diam.
245/45ZR16
LL 7.5-9" -Recomended Wheel Width
8" Meas.Rim
10.1" Width Sect.
9.2" Width Tread
24.7" Width Overall Diam.
255/50ZR16
SL 7-9" -Recomended Wheel Width
8" Meas.Rim
10.5" Width Sect.
9.8" Width Tread
26.2" Width Overall Diam.
275/45ZR16
LL 8.5-10" -Recomended Wheel Width
9" Meas.Rim
11.2" Width Sect.
10.3" Width Tread
25.6" Width Overall Diam.
A few things: The 275 actually has a lower total diameter than the 255, however it looks like the 255 will fit nicely on a 7.5" rim...sooo->
I guess my question now is: How much will the tread patch be sacrificed? What else will be effected negatively by running a "larger width than recomended tire on a smaller width than recomended rim"?
I know guys with other cars that have ran 275 rubber on 7.5" rims successfully. Thoughs on this specifically?

Does anyone else here have experience with this issue? Will varying front/rear overall tire diameters cause the ABS to freak out? Maybe I could pull the fuse?
I don't plan on trying a 275 on a 6.5" rim. I haven't heard of anyone doing it succesfully, and knowing that 275 on a 7.5" rim is pushing it, the return might not be worth the effort. But please, if you try it, let me know!

It will fit, but it's very tall. Gearing will suffer. Go 225/245 or 245/245 unless you have a 4.77 rear end or a ton of power to make up for it.
