My gas cap broke & I CANT get it OPEN?
i dont know if its partially closed or what not, last night filling up gas, after i filled it up, i screwed the cap on, then i might of accidently pushed lightly on it and screwd at the same time, and i saw a lil white piece broke off, now it just SPINS, but i cant take it out ,
im not even sure if the gas cap closed all the way??
fck im screwed.. no money for 2 weeks & i just filled my tank to Full & gotta last me that long...
how do i open it? or who sells a replacement? autozone ones work? or do i have to get OEM dealer?

hmm whenever this happened to me with oilcaps at work i just jsut a monkey wrench and gripped the sides and forced it off. you can try that. I dont think you ahve to get oem Im sure your locall parts store has caps that will fit and tell you whether its vented or not.

Yea like chillout said get a big a$$ pair of plyers and grip it hard when you squeeze the outerpart into the inner hard enough it will spin off. Might want to try a oil filter wrench or something that will open enough to get around it and grip hard. good luck

If it all breaks off without getting the cap off, you can open your trunk and take off the pipe that feeds the gas down to the tank and then try and get it off from the inside its only mounted with 2 10mm bolts I think???

Nothing should fall into the fuel neck anyway the flap should keep any pieces up. I say crack that mother apart if you can't squeeze the outer ring in tight enough.
You won't get pieces in the tank, i believe there is a screen on most cars these days that will prevent anything non-liquid being inserted into the tank. When the huge ridiculous blackout (multiple days, millions of people) happened a few years back, I tried to siphon gas from a recently filled work van with a huge tank. I couldn't get the hose in far enough and instead caught a huge lung full of fumes. Instant vomit

Did you try pushing really, really hard in while trying to unscrew it? If that doesn't work, consider taking an oversized set of channelock pliers and sqeezing/breaking off the outer part of the gas cap. Then you should be able to get the rest of it off.
BTW: I believe the Civic gas cap fits the S2000.
