Need advice on this clutch damage
#12
IMO putting it back together is way easier and faster than taking it apart. You're 70% done. I did my clutch job all by myself and since I knew what I took out I knew what to put back. I had mine propped up on cinder blocks and used a floor jack to handle the tranny.
Some people have complained about reinstalling the tranny but for me it slipped right in. Having a bum shoulder is definitely going to make it harder for you.
Good luck.

Good info here. It's too bad they did a rush job previously. A lot of time its the lack of or incorrect grease that leads to premature troubles.
Id make sure to check the pedal freeplay via billmans recommendation and gavity bleed the old fluid out as well.
Maybe look into the subframe collars while youre in there as well?

I am an ex auto shop teacher and former pro bmw mechanic, so i've done many clutch jobs on all sorts of euro and jap cars. Many owners have a lot more than 83k on the oem clutch.

Yes, I agree. Oem direct from honda for all the clutch components including the grease.
The collars are to fill in the gaps around the subframe bolts and make sure the subframe is square to the body.

How did you find that 6 puck in terms of bite and pedal pressure?
