I don't travel with a phone, so if I don't make it there, go ahead and eat and get on the road, i'll just catch up.

Check this thread for updates.

So far we have
1. darcyw
2. PJCC
3. maybe Funat9000rpm

darcy
That's the route I was hoping for.

I'm interested!
Let's do this!!! I'm thinking Dragon, Knoxville lunch & sight seeing, meet for BBQ, and drive the triangle before heading back to Fontana.
On the way up to dinner, consider doing the triangle clockwise, eat at Coal Creek Smokehouse, then drive the Triangle counterclockwise back to tapoca/fontana. Its a different drive in each direction.

Playing with the maps, another option would be doing Cherohala Skyway to Telco Plains, and then Hwy 75 + Hwy 40 Hwy 360 to Vonore, TN, and Rt. 411 North to Knoxville. Just throwing it out there for everyone to read.

Time permitting, this is a more interesting route I've mapped out leaving from Coal Creek Smokehouse in Rocky Top.

looks to be only 30 minutes longer drive than originally planned- and there is always time to drive these roads- sleep is over rated anyway.

Have you been though happy valley before? FYI the road has a lot of gravel/stones on it.

I am interested though.

Google map pictures look fine. It's been several years since I drove there, but a few stones don't bother me. However, if that's a no go for some, they can stay on 321 @ Maryville and take the Foothills Parkway section 8G from Walland to Chilhowee. Then we re-group at the now-paved gravel lot before entering the Dragon. Or we all take the Foothills Pkwy. It's fun either way.

Have you been though happy valley before? FYI the road has a lot of gravel/stones on it.

I am interested though.
Happy Valley has been a regular for us for the past 3 years and i have no issues with the pavement surface. just keep back about 4 seconds to keep the airborne stones off your hood.

I'm cool with it just wanted to make sure people knew it can be a little sketchy at times. Last time I went through there it was raining so lots of fun sideways action.
