↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ what they said +1

my timing isn't out, new tensioner solved my noise....

a new chain isnt a bad idea its just very costly. If I could afford 2k id do it.... but I've a supercharger to save for..... ;-)

Fitted my Ballade TCT today, took around 30mins for me as I wanted to take my time. Once fitted the engine has never been soo quiet. Made a huge difference to mine. I'll be out for a test drive later. Hope this help others on here.

Update: Well, I've probably started my car from warm about 7 times today and no rattle. I never realised or had forgotten how quiet the engine use to be. The Ballade TCT comes highly recommended. If the rattle does return you can be assured you'll know about it. Well pleased!

Good to know and thanks for the update. My Ballade TCT arrived about a week after ordering and it looks like a well engineered bit of kit.

I'm fitting next weekend with the help of a mate and doing a oil and filter change at the same time. I'm going to post a before and after vid on youtube (will put link on here). I have my fingers crossed I will get a good result!

BTW - I have heard horror stories of oil filters coming loose when changed. Anyone know the correct torque setting to tighten the filter?

Tighten the filter to contact then a further 7/8 of a turm.

Remember to put a "TCT friendly" oil in say Castrol Edge 5W40 and an original Honda filter, part number in the FAQ.

Tegiwa do a filter stopper kit, see the trader thread.

I think most have found this when swapping to Ballade.

Mine's on for 130k miles and hasn't needed a chain doing. My TCT noise was horrific when I picked it up. I had the inside of the shaft and the worm shot blasted and then simply refitted with an oil change.

I've done 10k miles without any TCT noise so far.

I'd try a refurb before replacing with a ballade sport one. I have no doubt they're superior, but it might be an even cheaper fix.
