Good afternoon all

After the part numbers for all associated gearbox output shaft bearings, oil seals nuts etc.

Started howling/grinding in a bit when moving in gear or out of gear, so got it up on the ramps at a mates garage and used the old screwdriver trick and sure as hell, its the output shaft bearings, the vibration/buzzing sensation through the screwdriver was mad!

Whilst we're on the subject, what's the likely cause of failure of these? oil starvation? lack of changes or too big intervals? the previous owner had it down at 99k miles and I done it around 115k miles or so and was replaced with Hondas MTF3 If I remember right.

The vibration is coming from where part no 12 is on the secondary shaft diagram.

Going to source one of them and get it fitted and hope that'll cure the issue

Common one that - can be changed without removing the box IIRC - worth doing some reading around. I put up with mine but the noise was and still is marginal, Pip ( Squeak ) got hers changed and it cured it completely. You can hear a metallic whirring directly under the shifter housing?

That's it, spot on.

Really annoying as I can hear it all the time, low or high speeds in gear or out.

Will get one on order tomorrow with any luck and sorted some point
