New wrap ruined paint - what would you do?
So you may know I got my car wrapped. Big mistake. The day after it started peeling on the edges so I showed it to the installer and he agreed something wasn't right and said this is far from normal and agreed it look like shit. I've seen his work and this was not what I had seen. He offered to fix it but I passed and said I want it off, just not feeling it. He offered a full refund and in return of his fair offer I agreed to remove it my self since he put 15 hours of labor and 500 in parts in. When I removed it with a heat gun as he instructed it took the paint off almost everywhere. After speaking with him and showing him pictures he believes the material from Avery was faulty in some way. Now what do I do? The entire car almost every paintable surface is damaged and needs to be repainted. Those of you who have seen my car know how clean it was and before doing this I had express my reasoning of why I wanted to wrap the car to him. Since there is so much gravel this year I wanted to protect the paint and told him I'm doing it for that reason. He assured my it would do that and could be removed later with no issues.

OMG Vince, I'm gutted for you just looking at those pics.
Sleep on it for a couple of days. Don't do anything rash. No, the car will never have the original paint again but that's OK. You've got a great looking car that's not all beat to sh!t. She'll be good again.
Will the installer reach out to Avery to see if they will cover the damages? If Avery doesn't cover it, will the installer cover the damages?
Good luck brother.
ps: nice garage floor

That's what I'm hoping for. He's calling Avery today and we are supposed to talk. Hopefully we can work something out cuz I want to get this car in the shop this week. This is the weather!!!
If Avery won't cover it, you would ask him to right?

Yup, this is exactly what the installer should have insurance for.
This may not work in your favor but, has he tried to install the same vinyl on a test panel on another car. Trying to reproduce the same issue to prove faulty or wrong product used.

That really sucks, I just saw your car and it was mint, before it was wrapped. It looks like it peeled the clear coat, did it get down to the primer anywhere? It is possible that a shop would able to save your factory paint if they strip the clear coat and resprayed it depending on the density of the color coat, that is just a guess do don't quote me on it. Regardless you should not have to pay for any damage.
Let us know what the installer comes back with. Good luck!
