Default Snetterton Trackday - Fri 28th February *

Opentrack trackday at Snetterton on the 28th February .

I know Dan Bourne, Tim S and myself will all be at Snetterton on this day. If anyone fancies coming along even just to watch and take photos feel free to turn up! You don't have to pay to be a spectator and you can get a good view from several different places on the track.

Hopefully the weather will be good!

Cool! Weather forecast is still early days but BBC says rain/snow and accuweather says cloudy. Who is definately coming?

I have opted to keep the AD08's on the front of mine and i got some Federal 595 RSRs for the rear's based on Ron's good review. Hopefully the different tyre choices wont make too much difference on track but i will soon find out. One downer is if the weather is dry i still wont be able to lower the hood incase the hole in it gets any bigger.

I will have a decent set of spanners and sockets incase anyone runs into problems during the day.

Fingers crossed they're all wrong and it's dry. Seeing reports of sleet, website opentrackdays recommend say rain/cloud.

I've sent an email to opentrackdays requesting tuition but had no confirmation. Anyone know if this is normal?

I think its first come first serve regarding tuition so you might be out of luck. You could try sending him a message on facebook as hes normally on there and will probably get back to you quite quickly.

I know the day is now fully booked so it will be busy!

I really hope the track is reasonably dry or begins to dry out when we get there, when i went in december the track was wet and cold and grip was non-existant. Will be setting off in 20 minutes, 530am is too early!

Well the day started off damp but dried quickly and by the 11 oclock it was quite grippy in places. Car was faultless and didnt use a drop of oil.

Met alot of nice people today, Martin, Tangovtec (sorry mate cant remember your first name), Tim S and Dan B. Spoke to a few MX5 owners as well. Was good to swap experiences with other owners, Tims input on his trackday experiences and sprint experience was very useful. I had a few laps behind Tim and apart from the difference in tyres he drives much much faster than me, obviously has alot of confidence in his car and the way it will behave. Sounded great as it went past!

Sorry if i didn't say bye to some of you but the weather started to get bad so i opted to shoot off. The drive home was fun to say the least, constant heavy rain all the way back.

Took some photos only a few but should have the professional ones online soon.

Good to meet you all today. It took me 3 hours to get home in the rain! I'm knackered.

That was my first visit to Snetterton. I must say I liked it (apart from the distance) - decent grippy tarmac even when wet and a decent canteen as they go. One of the most important considerations of any circuit.
