Default Noise Ident required!

I've had this for a little while, doesn't seem to be getting worse (although I've not been driving it much) and I can't see anything loose that could be causing it (e.g. heatshield).

In that clip I'm accelerating from 40 to ~65. After about 6 seconds you can start to hear it, it sounds like a metallic rattle/whirr and is a fairly consistent tone/pitch.

It's only audible over 60mph, in any gear (although in 2nd/3rd the engine is louder but you can just hear it).
Happens in gear or in neutral and doesn't seem to get louder as you get faster.

It doesn't sound like a wheel bearing, and hasn't gotten any worse recently so I think that might not be it. It also doesn't appear to be coming from any particular direction. My current thinking after looking around the web is that the prop shaft cv has gone and run dry, but I've no way to diagnose this? I've checked all the bolts are tight (which they seem to be). My other thought is a bearing in the box, as that seems quite common.

Sorry to hijack but I also have a similar annoying noise - just between 3.5k and 4k revs - it's like a metallic ringing noise.

Any ideas?

I would have a guess at air con clutch dan. Mine does the same noise at the same revs.

that sounds like its a clutch going.. so check your alternator clutch and your aircon clutch.

Thanks, although you definitely can't hear anything from the engine bay with the engine running like in the video above.

Sorry I can't run the link on my phone, but am I right in saying from your description that this only happens over 60mph, irrelevant of engine speed?
If you get to 60 and dip the clutch do you still get the noise?
If so, that would suggest drive train as all engine components are back to idle speed.
