Default A Buzzy Cat II

A Honda part @ £1416.624 is, of course, not an option.

Shortsoundman and others have Berk High-Flow catalytic converters and, at about £12000 cheaper, seem a bargain. Searching the internet reveals several others but as they are an unknown Berk seems the obvious choice.

Question - There are 2 sizes: 63mm or 70mm. Will both sizes fit and if so, which would be the best? Tarmac sells both, so free postage and an S2000 discount.

On its own the 70mm would probably lose some performance. Not needed unless the entire exhaust, intake and engine management are being upgraded.

Thanks

I don't plan (at the moment) to change any other aspect of the system, so 63mm it will be.

thanks again

The Buzzy Cat has now gone. Tarmacsportz sent the High-Flow direct to TGM for me. S2K discount and free postage to Tarmacsportz and to Tom's while you wait fitting.

Saving on the Honda quote = £1217.18

Sounds better than the original and feels like improved performance - my imagination I am sure.

Next question - when the car is due for its next MOT, is there anything that can be done to improve the chances of passing. I have seen the comment that it 'scraped through' mentioned.

Sounds like a good experience all round - makes it a lot easier to part with the cash if you get good service.

For passing the MOT, the basics tend to work well; clean air filter, clean IACV, fill up with good fuel, clean+working PCV, breather hoses in good condition, get it nice and hot before you drop it off, maybe run some injector cleaner (my fav is Redline SI-1) in the tank before but I tend to only do that before an oil change.

And I think going from a partially blocked cat to a new standard one you'd notice the difference, so from blocked cat to high flow you are bound to notice an improvement

Thanks fro the advice.
placebo or not, I am sure performance improvement has been made; the wife frowns more.
