Default Hybrid Ram Panavise X Grip Phone Mount - semi custom

I wanted to share my build for my Custom Phone Mount that I use with my iphone 5 and harry's lap timer for track data logging.

I had started with the Ram X-Grip Mount with the double joint and twist lock suction, but I found that it was hard to adjust and it also didn't facilitate going from portrait to landscape. Another problem with the ram mount's twist lock arm mount is its inability to attenuate the vibration

My contourHD uses the panavise 809 mounting bracket which I think is a much better design than the twist lock. I was hoping to mate the X grips ability to adjust and hold any phone/case combination securely and the panavise 809's ability to articulate and lock securely in place.

Here's my bill of materials:
RAM Mount Universal X-Grip Phone Cradle RAM-HOL-UN7U
Mfr. P/N: RAM-HOL-UN7U
RAM Mount Plastic Diamond Base with Snap Link Ball
Mfr. P/N: RAP-SB-238U
Panavise 809-AMP Standard AMPS Window Mount

I got the modify dash mount with an Arkon slim grip ultra mount. Perfect setup imo.

Only pic I have on phone showing it.

uh your camera would capture a big black spot in that position.

here's a link to a track video with my mount:

note since this video i have since added throttle/rpm obd2 data via an elm 327 wifi dongle

Looking for phone mount options. I'm considering both the Ram X Mount and Panavise. How's your set-up holding up and have you made any updates?

Thanks for your suggestion. I actually considered this option, but wanted to have the ability to record video with the data overlay; the modifry option would prevent me from doing this.
