Formal announcement of the Big Zipp 2013. Saturday August 3rd. Mark your calendars for a great 2/3's of a day event!

Meeting at the rest area on the Adirondack Northway just above exit 9 at 9am.

Shooting for a 9:30 takeoff. Going to revisit the route from the first big Zipp three years ago with a few mods. Three quarters of the drive will be in the morning to early afternoon with a stop at the Ice Cream Man in Greenwich. Then a short drive 45 mins to 1 hour ending at your choice of Halfmoon Sandwich Shop or at Wheatfields restaurant as in previous years. All told we should finish up 3:30 to 4ish depending on time spent at restaurant. I need input from all interested in attending on choice of dining facility and of course a list of attendies ASAP. As a precaution after last years experience-wear your air conditioned underwear!

PS: For those coming from a distance away may I suggest that you make a mini holiday of it and come in Friday evening have a nice dinner and stay over. Sleep in a bit and start out refreshed on Sat. I'll be glad to make recommendations on places to dine.

Nothing to apologize for. As we have always done so, this drive is 2 weeks after the Solidarity Drive and I think on track with all established procedures.

The only change, I'd like you to make is to edit the title to include the Day & Date whicn in this case would be SAT, AUG 3rd

oh! and no one is in charge which means everyone is in charge. We are a civil group and I trust us to handle all events without upsetting plans for any other pre-scheduled events.

Dave - in order to edit the title, do the following:

1. Click the Edit button on the first post announcing the drive.
2. Then click the "USE FULL EDITOR" button
3. This will enable the Title fields and you can enter date information and anything relevant that you wish to share.

Ice Cream Man was featured in Throwdown with Bobby Flay. Only open during the warmer months. Great place to stop for a shake or sundae while on the drive
