Default STR Prep - Wheels and Tires 2013 edition

With all the new tires out this year it made sense to me to start up a new poll. This is a continuation of the 2012 thread here - https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/904...els-and-tires/

So which tires and wheels do you like and use?

Wheels that I'm currently aware of that are available in 2013:
TR Motorsports C3 (17x9 +62) 18.8 lbs
TSW Nurburgring (17x9 +63) 19.2 lbs
TSW Interlagos (17x9 +63) 18.0 lbs (est)
TSW Panorama (17x9 +63) 18.2 lbs (est)
Enkei PF01 (17x9 +60) 17.2 lbs
Volk CE28n (17x9 +63) 14.8 lbs (est)
Volk RE30 (17x9 +63) 16 lbs (est)
Volk TE37 (17x9 +63) 17 lbs

Discontinued wheels that are floating out there in lucky people's garages:
949 Racing 6ULR (17x9 +63) 17 lbs
Buddy Club P1 Racing QF (17x9 +63) 14.2 lbs
SSR Type C (17x9 +55) 15 lbs

As for wheels, I use the 949 6ULR in 17x9 +63. This wheel is unfortunately unavailable now although he says an updated version will come out at some point. I also use the TSW Nurburgring in the same size/offset. The 949 is 17.x lbs whereas the Nurburgring is 19.0 lbs.

I will be testing Z2s and Rivals. I have the Dunlops mounted on my Buddy Clubs (I weighed one at work and it was 14.2) and the Rivals on the TR Motorsports wheels. First event on them for me is Sunday. Looking forward to the testing!

haha you just had to rub that buddy club weight in didn't you . Thanks, I updated the original post with the weight.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the tires. From what I've heard so far the Rivals don't appeal to me much.

No problem! Don't worry, my car is still a pig.

I don't think the Rivals will be my prefered tire either. People say they feel similar enough to RS-3s and I hate those tires with a passion.

We've been going back and forth between the Z2 and RE-11A.

The Z2s haven't been as good for us, but I'm thinking it's more of a setup issue, or that FedEx just happens to *love* the 11A. We'll see.

I don't think the 255 Rivals will be particularly special, but i'm certainly interested to see how the 245 Rivals perform, but their arrival date keeps getting pushed back and back (I'd canceled my 255 Rival order to pick up 11As earlier in the season).

No idea that existed! Must be really new. Just checked and it does come in either 17x9 or 18x9 and +63 offset. Thanks, will add to top post.

Also TSW lists the weight of the nurburgring as 19.2 lbs which is pretty accurate, and they list that weel as 18.2, so assuming that's accurate too then that's actually one of the more lightweight cast wheels.
