Default FS: 2003 MCB 41k miles, Bilsteins

[attachment=38126:IMG_3258.jpg] (Surface rust on discs because I just washed the car!)
[attachment=38127:IMG_3259.jpg] [attachment=38125:Honda interior.jpg] (Shows new Rick's leather console cover and shift gaiter)

For sale:
2003 Honda S2000 (glass rear screen)
Monte Carlo Blue with black leather upholstery.
41,000 miles (nearly!). Full Honda Service History. Last serviced September 2012. MOT to 13th September 2013. Taxed to the end of February 2014
Bilstein PSS/9 coilover suspension and full geometry setup by renowned suspension specialists Center Gravity in 2010.
£8000.

I have owned this car for the past 7 years, during which time it has lived in my garage, and been used only for weekend pleasure trips and the occasional track day, albeit none of those since 2011. Contrary to the apparent norm, this engine uses no oil between services, which I have had done annually despite the low mileage I cover. The oil is always a lovely golden colour when you check the dipstick! I have done less than 2000 miles a year in this car, but enjoyed every one of them! I have all the previous MOT certificates, so you can see that the mileage on this car is genuine. Consistent with its age, there are a few stone chips on the front, but in all other respects this car is in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically.
For road use, the original (and unkerbed) 16” diamond cut wheels are fitted with new Avon tyres (done about 500 miles since fitting these last October). For track use I have another set of OEM 16” wheels (professionally painted in gunmetal grey) and Toyo R888 tyres in OEM sizes. The Toyos are MOT compliant and have plenty of tread left on them. These are the wheels and tyres you see in all the later (2011) photos.

I had Bilstein PSS/9 adjustable coilover suspension supplied and fitted in May 2010 by Center Gravity. Those geometry bolts which required work were freed up by CG when the suspension was fitted, and the geometry has been optimised for use with R888 tyres and track use, with corner weighting. No need to worry about seized bolts or questionable geo on this car. The Bilsteins have a lifetime guarantee. Geo settings and the invoice for the work done by Centre Gravity will be supplied with the car. The suspension setup means that the car is lower than standard at the moment, but the ride height is adjustable so you could raise it (or lower it more) if you wished. Comfort on full soft setting is noticeably better than standard, and the geo settings make for vastly improved confidence in the car’s handling in all conditions. The adjustment wheels for the dampers on the Bilsteins are on the tops of the units, so easily accessible under the bonnet for the front, and in the boot (behind the carpet) for the rears. This keeps them clean and serviceable, and means you don’t have to lie on the floor to change your damper settings. (Unlike some other makes of adjustable coilovers available)

Apart from having changed the front discs for EBC turbogroove, and the pads for EBC (yellow at the moment) this car is unmodified. It drives beautifully. It has an “X car box” so that an iPod can be played through the OEM stereo.
The original spare wheel (unused) and full tool kit are still with the car, as is the tonneau cover. The hood is unmarked and has no tears or leaks.

The car has Ricks’ leather headrest inserts fitted. These pads fill the “helmet cutouts” in the original seat head restraints, and provide a little extra comfort and wind blocking!

Because I still love this car I foolishly treated it to a new leather “Rick’s” console cover, new leather shift gaiter, and new leather sunvisor covers just this month (April 2013). That was when my wife remembered I was supposed to be selling the car, and reminded me I was not trying hard enough…..!

I am selling this car with the added incentive that the track wheels and R888 tyres are also included in the price. I would sell it with only one set of wheels if the buyer wished, but it would be a shame to do so: the two sets give you such flexibility of use. If you don’t want to do track days, change the tyres for a set of winters and use the car as a daily driver. With such low mileage for the year I doubt you will find a better car for the money! I’m selling it only due to domestic pressure. I’m not advertising it elsewhere at this stage because I would like it to go to an enthusiast who will truly appreciate this car. I’m sure you’re out there!

Please make contact by PM if you wish to view the car. If you want a test drive, please bring proof of insurance.

Simon.

Here are some photos. Apologies that they mostly date from late 2011 (which is when I first advertised this car on here, but I confess I wasn't trying too hard to sell then). The 3 photos at the top of this post are new ones, and if anyone wants a particular part of the car to be photographed you can ask! I have, however, only done about 1000 miles since these late 2011 pics were taken, and they do show the car as it still looks.

No! I got a friend of mine in the trade to sell it for me. He is good at his job! (and it is a good car too)
