Writing a Love Letter to This Well Used S2000 Type S

Despite the flooded market of low-mile S2000s, most owners still like to drive their cars, and sometimes drive them a lot.

Driver Grade

There are so many low-mile S2000s out there that one might begin to think that most owners use them only as weekend cruisers or stash them away as collectibles. But that simply isn't the case, even with a more rare or valuable model like the Club Racer. Some of us actually drive and use our cars on a regular basis, including the owner of this Type S, or CR as its known in the states - Saikat Saha, who got his car filthy driving in the rain for a photoshoot with The Daily Star.

Long List

Saha's ride is a Berlina Black Type S that has received a host of modifications. They include a new set of gold RPF1 wheels wrapped in Advan Neova AD08 R tires, as well as the entire catalog of Toda parts installed under the hood, for starters.

Stay Planted

A Toda exhaust and bright pink pulley kit make up just a couple of those aforementioned parts, and both add some power and a visual upgrade under the hood. Underneath the Type S itself, a set of Ohlins coilovers help keep the car planted, no matter how nasty the weather might get outside.

Winning Them Over

All of those upgrades, coupled with the inherent magic of the S2000/Type S/Club Racer platform, is more than enough to win over the writer/reviewer of this particular article, Ahbar Milky. "They say you shouldn't meet your heroes. However, if your hero is a Honda S2000, you should scratch that. It does not disappoint," Milky said.

Slightly Off Base

Milky credits the Fast & Furious movie franchise for transforming the S2000 into a cult car of sorts, but we all know better than that. The real appeal of these cars lies in the driving experience, from their high-revving motors to their silky smooth shifting transmission to that balanced chassis.

Enter the Matrix

Regardless, we found his Matrix comparison to be quite humorous and possibly true. "This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe," Milky said. "You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how buyers of the Honda Vezel have the blood of the S2000 on their hands. Remember, all I'm offering is the truth – nothing more."

Nice Change

Above all, we found this little photoshoot to be intriguing, if for no other reason than the fact that the car's owner isn't afraid to use his prized possession. After all, we see plenty of pictures of pristinely detailed S2000s - why not one that's incredibly filthy?
